Security will never become a commodity

Security: will it ever become a commodity? In 1896 the first car was seen on the road in The Netherlands. It took until 1971 before seat belts became mandatory in the front of the car and until 1992 for them to become mandatory in the back. 75 years… As reflected in the CGI Client Global Insights the past years, there is a strong link between digital transformation and the urge to protect the organization. Protecting the organization from cybersecurity threats is firmly on the agenda of digital organizations, with board-level accountability. Although the topic is on the agenda it still seems far from becoming a commodity and is still not always baked into the design of new solutions. Will the COVID19-pandemic have an impact on the security by design developments or will the overall response to security also return to normal?
